Interlaken Technology Corporation's versatile ServoPress is a double acting servo-controlled hydraulic press that is ideal for quickly evaluating forming properties of sheet and tube materials.
Interlaken’s ServoPress Model 75 and 150 Test Systems are designed to perform a variety of tests including: evaluating forming properties of materials, process development, quality control of incoming materials, hot metal gas forming, hydroforming and lubricant ranking.
The ServoPress is equipped with Interlaken’s UniPress Control System to control, monitor and record forming process parameters such as the clamp force, clamp position, punch force, and punch position. This controller uses a windows based graphical operator interface to set up, run and monitor the tests. UniTest incorporates automated routines for detecting load drops and uses a Wizard to guide the operator through standard test procedures. In addition, Interlaken offers Test Builder, an application program to custom-build your own sequence of press operations using an intuitive graphical interface.
Some of the fixtures and dies sets that are available with the ServoPress include the Marciniak Cup, Limited Dome Height (LDH), Draw Bead Simulator, Olsen and Erickson Cup, and the OSU Formability and Friction Die Sets.
Another very popular application for the ServoPress is to provide a reliable and consistent method for testing the weld integrity of tailor-welded blanks. Using a 2” LDH die, the ServoPress records and graphs the maximum load and height at failure of the tailor-welded blanks. Other methods such as the Erichsen and Olsen Cup tests rely on visual detection of metal failure, which is very subjective and inconsistent.
