A typical hydroforming press system normally consists of the following sub-systems:
Interlaken Technology’s hydroforming (hydro forming) development system integrates these components with our ServoPress computer controlled hydraulic press or with a customer’s existing hydraulic press. While this system was originally conceived as a tool for developing hydroforming processes and evaluating materials and lubricants, it may also be used in production. ServoPress The ServoPress is a single or double acting servo-controlled hydraulic press. The ServoPress includes Interlaken’s UniPress control hardware and software. UniPress is a state of the art Windows based 16 bit direct digital controller with extensive data collection and analysis capability. Hydroforming Feed Actuators The Pressure Intensifier System is a cabinet mounted system powered by shop air. The system is completely plumbed and includes all manifolds and pressure control valves. A variety of pressure and flow options are available. The pressure intensifier system is controlled by the UniPress control hardware and software. Control of pressurization events is fully integrated with other press control events. Tooling Interlaken has designed a die set that will allow people to hydroform tubes of various diameters. The dies use changeable inserts for different cavity shapes and can be run with or without end feed. Using these dies along with the control and data acquisition capability of the ServoPress to study the effects of various shapes at various pressures and end feeds, give a very clear picture of material and lubricant behavior.
